The Comenius Center
for Continuing, Professional, and Graduate Studies
The Moravian College Comenius Center offers adult students the opportunity to transform their lives through continuing education. The Comenius Center offers baccalaureate and master's degrees, along with professional certificate and certification programs. Convenient class schedules fit adult lifestyles and flexible programs help students to reach their academic goals. The real-world classroom environment provides personal and professional enrichment for our students.
Comenius Center advisors understand the needs of adult students when helping them select programs or courses. The Center offers the convenience of extended hours and a "one-stop shopping" approach. Business and Management Programs
The Comenius Center offers baccalaureate majors in human resources management, organization management (with tracks in business communication, business management, and marketing), and accounting.
Professional business certificate programs are available in business communication and human resources management. Credit earned through a professional certificate program may be applied toward one of the baccalaureate management majors.
The Moravian MBA program is designed to develop leaders with the skills and adaptability to manage complex, diverse, and fast-changing situations. Concentrations in general management, supply chain management, information technology (IT) service management, and healthcare management are available.
The Master of Science in human resource management program, with concentrations in leadership and in learning and performance management, is designed for human-resource professionals who wish to enhance their strategic-level business skills.
Advanced professional business certificates (graduate-level programs) are available in information technology (IT) service management, supply chain management, and healthcare management.
Education Programs
Teacher certification programs are designed to prepare knowledgeable, competent, and caring teachers who qualify for the Pennsylvania Instructional Level I teaching certificate. Programs in a variety of specialty areas are available to students at both the pre- and post-baccalaureate level.
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in curriculum and instruction is a reflective program designed for practicing teachers. Each course is directly applicable to the classroom, and the program has an action research focus. M.Ed. courses may also be taken to satisfy Act 48 requirements or to meet personal professional development goals.
Programs leading to reading specialist certification (K-12), English as a second language program specialist certification, principal certification, and certification for supervisor of curriculum and instruction (K-12) are also offered.
Nursing Programs
Comenius Center nursing programs are offered by the St. Luke’s School of Nursing at Moravian College, a unique partnership between Moravian College and St. Luke’s Hospital.
The R.N. to B.S. program, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), delivers the highest quality baccalaureate nursing education to registered nurses in a flexible format that respects the experience and understands the learning needs of adult students.
The Master of Science (M.S.) program in nursing, with nurse administrator, nurse educator, and clinical nurse leader tracks, is designed to prepare today’s nurses for essential leadership roles in nursing administration, education, and practice environments. Graduate coursework is designed to foster interdisciplinary exchange and learning with nursing, education, and business administration faculty.
Liberal Arts and Sciences Programs
The Center offers baccalaureate majors in art (with tracks in graphic and information design, studio art, and art education), English, historical studies, and religious studies (with option for articulated admission to Moravian Theological Seminary).
With day and evening study periods of varying lengths, May term and summer sessions offer more than 100 for-credit courses. Admission is open to Moravian College students, to students of other colleges with their dean's approval, and to other qualified applicants by special approval. The facilities of the Haupert Union Building and the residence halls are available to qualified summer-session students.
