Moravian Theological Seminary

With offices and classrooms in the Bahnson Center and Lenox House on the Main Street Campus, Moravian Theological Seminary offers graduate degree programs leading to the Master of Divinity, the Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling, and the Master of Arts in Theological Studies. Graduate certificate programs are offered in Spiritual Direction and Formative Spirituality.

Moravian Theological Seminary serves as the seminary for the Moravian Church, primarily for students in North America. It is typical that students from other international Moravian provinces, such as Tanzania, Nicaragua, and the Eastern West Indies, further their studies here also. In keeping with the ecumenical stance of the Moravian Church, the Seminary welcomes students from all denominations. Non-Moravians from over sixteen faith traditions constitute more than half of the student body.

In addition to graduate courses in biblical studies, theology, world religions, church history, counseling dynamics, spiritual formation, and congregational leadership, the Seminary sponsors continuing education programs.

The Seminary has a cooperative agreement with the School of Social Work of Marywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania, whereby students can enroll in dual degree programs. By sharing comparable requirements and field placements, students can complete the Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling and the Master of Social Work in three years, as compared to four years if taken separately. Similarly a dual program in the Master of Divinity and the Master of Social Work can be completed in four years as compared to five year if taken separately.
