MCC 600 - Trauma Informed Counseling

This course serves as an overview of trauma-informed care in counseling. Course content will cover historical trauma treatment, as well as current approaches that include cognitive, neurological, psychological, biochemical, developmental, and interpersonal aspects of trauma work. Consideration will be given to trauma based diagnoses, how trauma prevails in specific populations, and the sociopolitical realities that traumatize some more than others.
