NURS 820 - Population Health, Ethics, & Social Responsibility


3 Credits

This course examines the ethical implications, social, economic, and environmental influences on diverse populations, and the capacity of the health system to accommodate the health needs of the population. Students will consider risk factors, primary and secondary prevention strategies, and social drivers of health and health equity from the local to the global levels. Evaluation of appropriate communication methods of health promotion and prevention strategies will be completed for a variety of stakeholders in the context of the age, literacy and prioritized needs of the population.

Prerequisite: NURS 500
