This course will introduce students to the basic principles of immunology as they relate to health and disease. Covered topics include innate and adaptive immunity, cell signaling and communication of threats, B and T cell maturation, activation, and differentiation, effector functions of the immune system, as well as immunological disorders and diseases. Students will develop laboratory skills relating to hematology, antigen-antibody interactions, cell-culturing, microscopy, and others. (Quantitative Reasoning)
