An individual’s ability to communicate offers them an opportunity to make their wants, needs and intentions known. Developing a healthy, sustainable means of communication can provide greater confidence, as well as a greater sense of independence. This course will focus on direct, meaningful, real-life, assessment and treatment, for adults with developmental disabilities, neurological insults, traumatic brain injuries that result in speech-language, communication and swallowing disorders with in-person instruction and standardized patient simulation modules.
