SOC 252 - Social Structure & Crime 4 Credits

This course will examine crime as a social construct, a topic of scientific study, and a social problem. Specifically, students in the course will explore what behavior is defined as criminal and how it comes to be considered criminal, what social factors can be used to predict crime rates, how society responds to crime, and what impact crime has on society.
