SPAN 125 - Spanish for Heritage Speakers 1 Units
This course is designed for incoming heritage speakers of Spanish who aspire to improve their writing skills and further develop their knowledge of the Spanish language. The course will offer a variety of engaging topics and readings, along with current cultural information. It will focus on spelling, accentuation, lexical development, and grammar topics especially relevant to English dominant Spanish-speaking students and Spanish dominant speakers. (F3) (Intercultural and Linguistic Competencies) Please note that heritage speakers are not allowed to take introductory SPAN 100, SPAN 103 , SPAN 105 , SPAN 106 or SPAN 110 . Instead, they should enroll in SPAN 125 which counts towards the major, minor, and health certificate in Spanish. Heritage speakers who wish to pursue the Spanish for Health Professionals Certificate must start with SPAN 111 : Conversational Spanish for Health Professionals.
