EDUC 632 - AI For Educators 3 Credits
This participatory, reflective, and practice-driven course prepares K-12 educators to thoughtfully explore, evaluate, and ethically integrate generative artificial intelligence (GAI) into their professional practice. Using a dual-lens framework that contrasts traditional and human-centered educational paradigms-drawing on Vijay Govindarajan’s Three-Box Strategy-participants examine how AI can support present needs, challenge outdated practices, and help co-design the future of teaching and learning. Grounded in Co-Intelligence by Ethan Mollick and informed by contemporary frameworks such as the CPS AI Guidebook, the UNESCO AI Competency Framework, and Human Restoration Project resources, the course emphasizes ethical, pedagogical, and societal implications of AI use. The course culminates in a public-facing, AI-co-designed artifact that reflects participants’ evolving vision for equitable, engaging, and human-centered learning in their local contexts.
