FREN 320 - Literary Rep Of Acadia And Quebec

4 Credits

1 Units

Closely tied to culture and place, literary and artistic representations of people change dramatically in different spaces and times. In this course, we will explore some of the most important literary canon that treats two distinct cultural groups found in French-speaking Canada: the Québécois and the Acadian. We will examine literature from several different time periods, and from different geographic spaces to see how different representations of these two identities evolved, how they clashed, and how they intertwined with each other. Through an adaptation of one of these works, we will examine how a change in geography and cultural identity changes the context of the work. (PTK: Social Systems)
