EDUC 583 - Art Across The Lifespan 3 Credits
This course will give students the opportunity to consider the role that art plays for communities and individuals, and how to engage others with art through collaboration in a variety of venues. In this course, students will explore the context of art, and the many ways it can restore, support, and build communities beginning with studying and viewing art, and how art (both experiencing and making) in community settings initiate new perspectives on individual and collective concerns, ideals, and celebrations. This course is designed for students who have an interest in the teaching and engagement of visual art to multiple age groups and demographics beyond K12 schools, such as in community centers, hospitals, correctional facilities, museums, camps and afterschool programs.
