SOCW 325 - Child Welfare Policy 4 Credits

This course examines the policies, systems, and practice of child welfare in the United States with a focus on the roles of social work and human services professionals in promoting the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and their families. Topics include history and policy of child welfare; legal and ethical issues; protective services; foster care, adoption, kinship care; family engagement; trauma-informed and strengths-based practice; working with diverse populations; interagency collaboration; and outcomes evaluation.
Prerequisite: SOCW235 - Case Management AND SOCW221 - Human Behav Social Envr AND SOCW210 - Soc Welfare Policy System AND SOCW100 - Intro to Social Work Credit Type Code: Letter Grade
