THEO 655 - Spiritual Learning Across Tradition


3 Credits

This course will introduce students to the possibility and promise of learning across faith and wisdom traditions. Various forms of this learning will be explored as spiritual learning has occurred in historical, pre-modern contexts, in the contemporary period, and in ecclesial settings. The dynamics of transformation through interreligious learning will be understood through sociocultural, phenomenological, psychological, and theological perspectives. Examples of spiritualities that have emerged from interreligious learning will be studied, and students will consider the relevance of this form of spirituality for their personal and ministerial development.
