THEO 663 - Proclamation In Word And Song

In this course students will explore the synergy of preaching and music in the context of corporate Christian worship. We will examine the texts of various genres of music used in congregational song, to determine their proclamatory character. We will also examine sermons where music is used explicitly or implicitly to proclaim the Gospel. The course is designed to help preachers, pastors, church musicians, and other worship leaders make the most of the mutually beneficial relationship between the Word spoken and sung.
