This course examines issues of race and ethnicity in New Testament interpretation in three steps: 1) examining, largely through historical interpretation of New Testament texts, how ancient logics and rhetorics of ethnicity impacted Christian origins; 2) explore how changing ideas about ethnicity and race impacted New Testament interpretation; and 3) encounter and develop resources for engaging issues of ethnicity/race and biblical interpretation in our own vocations and communities.
