ECON 228 - Economic Development 4 Credits

An integrative approach to theories and challenges of economic development in developing countries. Topics include population growth, education and health, capital formation and technology, socio-cultural foundations of development, trade, and the role of domestic and international institutions, especially the World Bank. Case studies are used from around the world.
Prerequisite: ECON 152 or ECON 153 and ECON 154 Credit Type Code: Letter Grade
