EDUC 524 - Social Studies:Instr Strategies

Students learn a multitude of practical ideas, strategies, and activities that early childhood educators can use to both interest young children in social studies and integrate social studies with other sciences, art, literature, math, reading, and writing. Since play is the basic way children learn, this course offers strategies to incorporate “play” into its materials. Students will develop a full thematic unit as a major project in the course. Fall.

Prerequisite: QPA of 2.70; EDUC 502.2 and EDUC 507; passing score on PAPA or PPST Reading and Writing
Corequisite: EDUC 523, EDUC 558.2
