EDUC 550 - Social Studies/Mid Level Learn 3 Credits
The purpose of this course is to introduce pre-service teachers through practical example to the “methods of mind” which children need to develop to become scholars, social scientists, problem-solvers, and citizens. The goal is to have students design a series of activities and experiences that incorporate the most important of these methods. Most class sessions will involve discussion of the material, small-group problem solving, or the presentation of learning experiences for children. Fall. (Undergraduate cognate: EDUC 330).
Prerequisite: QPA of 2.70; EDUC 503 , EDUC 507 , EDUC 540.2, and EDUC 544; HIST 113 ; IDIS 110 ; POSC 110 ; passing scores on PPST or PAPA Reading, Writing, and Mathematics Credit Type Code: Letter Grade
