EDUC 621 - Autism Spectrum Disorders

The purpose of this course is to provide professionals an increased understanding of underlying, every day challenges of students within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Topics discussed will include and provide an in-depth knowledge of assessment, learning, behavioral, cognitive and sensory characteristics, and etiology. In addition, the course will provide information on evidence-based practices for instruction, social skills,communication, and academics, as well as the impact of autism within the family unit.
