GERM 325 - Berlin in Film and Literature

This course will discuss major forms and periods of literary texts and films in and about Berlin from the early 20th century to the present within their social, political, and cultural context. We study diverse voices of male and female authors, including immigrant writers and filmmakers, on themes important to their and our times such as social oppression, ethics, gender, nation, and identity.

Prerequisite: One course in German above GERM 215.
Prohibited: Not open to students who have completed GERM 225.
