HIST 375 - WI:First People of N America

Provides an introduction to the interdisciplinary methodology of ethnohistory with which students will explore the history of First People within the US and Canada. Because of the diversity and complexity of First People’s cultures, this course will explore select themes, including but not limited to oral history, cosmology and religion, colonization, disease, trade, and cultural change and continuity. Using primary sources, students will write an ethnohistorical research paper on a topic of their choice.
