HLTP 112 - Sustainability and Public Health

This course introduces students to key sustainability issues through the lens of public health prevention and planning. Students will gain an understanding of the complex relationship between the environment, socioeconomics, and disease, as well as potential strategies for addressing key sustainability issues at a local and global level. The curriculum focuses on the following public health topics: sustainability history, culture and ethics, consumption and consumerism, food systems, food security, water resources, water pollution, waste management, climate change, climate justice, and environmental policy.
