Logic as a Liberal Art introduces students to deductive and inductive reasoning using a natural language approach. Students will learn to identify valid deductive arguments based on formal structures and probable inductive conclusions based upon the nature and quantity of supporting evidence. Students will engage in critical reading of a wide variety of texts and engage in ethical deliberation of age-old and contemporary controversies.
