IDIS 240 - Impact of The Atomic Bomb

This course is intended to give the students an informative and balanced look at nuclear energy. Students will learn about the fundamentals of radioactivity as well as the historical events related to nuclear energy and “the bomb”. The implications (environmental, scientific, ethical, and historical to name a few) of living in the nuclear age and the dangers inherent to nuclear energy will also be discussed. Related films will be used as points of discussion for ethics, policy, and technology issues.
