Students pursuing teacher certification in early childhood, middle level, or any secondary (7-12) or K-12 certification area listed above, and who maintain an academic record above the minimum requirements for certification (in the major, in education courses, and overall) may request permission to pursue an additional certificate in special education or English as a second language (ESL).

Required Courses in Certification

Students approved for ESL supplemental certification enroll in a set of five additional graduate courses offered for advanced undergraduate students:
