EDUC 358.2 - Pre-Student Teaching Field Expr

The pre-student-teaching experience is the precursor to the final stage of the certification process, student teaching. It is an opportunity for the student to become closely involved with classroom teaching and responsibilities while still being given extensive support and direction. The focus of this course is on the student’s continuing professional development as they culminate their preparation for teacher certification. It is their challenge to demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills, desire, stamina, and attitude to become an extraordinary teacher. The broad base of knowledge and fieldwork that they bring to this experience will help the students gain the expertise and confidence that is needed to be an exceptionally effective teacher.

Prerequisite: GPA of 2.70; completion of EDUC 211  or EDUC 230  and EDUC 244 ; clearances and other documents for fieldwork required; passing scores on Basic Skills Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
Corequisite: EDUC 358.2
