Secondary Content Areas. Explores the unique nature of subjects (English, world language, mathematics, science, social studies) as they relate to the fundamentals of pedagogy and planning within those content areas in preparation for student teaching. Major course requirement to design and then implement a unit plan in the field. Also examines avenues such as professional organizations for professional growth (organizations, publications). Required for all students seeking secondary certification. Students should register for the course that corresponds with their certification area.

Prerequisite: EDUC 230 and EDUC 244; GPA of 2.70; clearances and other documents for fieldwork required; passing scores on PAPA Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
